Acceptable Use Policy

NorthOkanagan.ca will provide a website link to organizations, groups, associations, businesses in the North Okanagan region.

Community groups wishing to include online community-based information for the North Okanagan Community Calendar will fill out an online form containing their information. Each applicant will be on a six-month probation period, whereby the information will be approved by the North Okanagan delegate prior to posting. After the probation period, the applicant will be granted a user name and password with access to posting information, following the guidelines as outlined during the probation period. The site will be monitored to ensure appropriate use of content. Any misinformation or failure to comply with the guidelines will result in a warning. Continued misuse of content may result in discontinuation of service provided.

Information posted on the North Okanagan Community Portal is for public viewing and therefore must be appropriate for the public. Events that are posted must be open to the public for involvement or spectating.

The NorthOkanagan.ca delegate reserves the right to: not publish or reference any site or material that may in its view violate the Canadian Human Rights Act, Human Rights Code of British Columbia, Statutes of Canada Chapter 32 of the Criminal Code or the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. When in doubt, the NorthOkanagan.ca delegate will use their discretion.

Information for posting must be submitted one week in advance of the event to be included.
